Need help in unbricking my nexus 6p i was on android m latest build and then i decided to try the new android n dp3 beta so i enrolled my 6p and updated through the ota update but after the update my 6p never started it stucks at the boot animation forever i tried wiping cache and also did a full wipe but its still the same. It must have been not having the latest adb/fastboot. Will use that guide that was posted.Īnd now I am rooted, thanks again for the help. Thanks to all! Got it up and running again, maybe it was old fastboot/adb version. Make sure your adb and fastboot files on the computer are up to date I had to do this on a Windows machine when I had similar results Here is the guide that many of us have used. My Internet connection has been a bit buggy, maybe the image was corrupted? Will try flashing a different image once it finally downloads. If you can boot into the bootloader you're most likely ok. Can I just flash the original factory image and start over? Or am I totally screwed? Received several file not found errors when flashing. So I thought if I flashed 8.1.0, all would be good and I could start over.ģ. Figured that since I had 8.0.0 on the device and I used the latest 8.1.0 boot image, that was causing the problem. Only options were to try booting again or factory reset.Ģ. Followed the instructions at / how-root-google-pixel-2 and got a corrupt message after rebooting at the end. Here is what I did when I get my Pixel 2 XL out of the box today.ġ. But that obviously didn't work when adb was out of date.īricked Pixel 2 XL Trying to root. Yeah, I saw that, but I thought that doing a flash-all would totally reset the phone. There is actually a lot of posts about it already. It's from the dtbo.img being modified by Magisk. That "internal problem" message is from Magisk. I'll try it out for a while to make sure I don't see any errors or anything, but it seems to be okay. I just downloaded platform-tools from and flash-all worked just fine like normal. Thank you!! I feel like an idiot, but I think it's working now.

You should try and install the latest January patch.
#Minimal adb fastboot v1.4.2 download#
You should download it directly from Google. It's unlikely that the Fastboot from that link is updated.

#Minimal adb fastboot v1.4.2 full version#
Should I download the full version from Google or would this be sufficient? I downloaded the image from, as usual. I got Minimal ADB and Fastboot from here: Where did you get the minimal ADB/Fastboot? What images are you trying to install? I know that I have messed with it (not sure about warranty), but would Target give me a new phone since I'm within 14 days? Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!!!Īlso, I have only had the device for 5 days. I'm honestly shaking right now and really upset. Now I'm getting an error on the bootloader and it won't boot.Īny ideas what this means? I downloaded Minimal ADB and Fastboot v1.4.2 and re-downloaded the factory image and I'm still getting the same problem. I realized the error might have been due to a problem with the vendor on one of the slots, so I decided to do a full flash after setting each slot as primary (using "fastboot -set-active=_a") It didn't go away, so I downloaded the 8.1 Dec image and did a flash-all.

Then I tried installing Viper4Android and got the following error on every reboot: I put Magisk on it and it was going fine. Bricked Google Pixel 2 Hi, I have the Verizon Pixel 2 (bought last week at Target) and unlocked the bootloader with the lock_critical command. Would have saved me a lot of time and frustration. If your Nexus 6P is not OEM unlocked, I suggest going into the developer settings right away to prepare for the bootloop possibility. Hairdryer trick finally worked for me as well. If that doesn't work, then you are S.O.L. Is there any solution for this?Īs already stated above, unlock your bootloader and flash the oreo 4 core boot.img. Started happening with me as well randomly.
